Tonight I watched, as I can assume most everyone else did, the Kony 2012 video. And may I just say, I am so overjoyed and astonished and overcome with emotion at the sheer size of peoples hearts.
Tonight my news feed turned from a ‘look at me’ rambling of daily activities and attributes to a microscope on the children of Africa and a plan to help bring down one of the worlds biggest criminals.
For once I felt proud to walk among people with hearts so big, people who cared enough to share a moving testimonial with others. To become aware of such a travesty taking place in our world.
We all have our problems and there are many challenges that face us all in the world, but this video just blew up and people stopped to think about the importance of their lives and what they could be doing to help others. This is a truly amazing revolution-taking place and I can only hope that people remember this moment right now as a something beautiful and pure. Imagine what we can create as a united front.
If we can all come together as one and fight for the rights of children in Africa and bring Kony to arrest, just imagine the ripple effects, imagine the rewards we will feel for all humanity and our confidence to keep doing the work that needs to be done to entitle all people to a quality of life that we all expect here in the first world.
I am so proud to be surrounded by such beautiful caring individuals.
Now comes the debate between the humanitarian and the cynic. But lets take action, not quarrel!
